Samantha & Hasan’s Real Wedding

Samantha & Hasan’s Real Wedding

Samantha and Hasan had their hearts set on a timeless vintage styled wedding in Australia

The couple met at their gym and discovered they had crossed paths at high school.  Their wedding day saw them celebrating into the night with their loved ones and 220 guests.

How did you both meet?
Hasan was a personal trainer at a gym I had recently joined. We first met at the initial consultation and realised we had both attended the same high school although we were a few years apart. I left my water bottle at the gym and he used the opportunity to message me. It was the chemistry and fun that brought our relationship together.

How did he propose?
It was at my house in front of our family.

What’s your most important piece of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship?
Trust – without it it’s difficult to lay the foundation for your relationship. And always treat each other as if you’re on your first date.

Tell us about your wedding gown and how you chose it:
It was the  first dress I tried on when I walked in to Belle et Blanc. I tried on a few more dresses however I kept coming back to the first one. It was exactly what I was looking for – a long train and delicate sleeves.

What style did you envision for your wedding day?
A timeless, vintage look with gold throughout.

What was your favorite moment from the day?
Walking into the venue and finding everyone all dressed and ready to meet us. It was a reminder of what great family and friends we have.

If you could do it all over again, what would you change?
I’d definitely try to stress less.

Any tips that you can give to future brides?
Small things may go wrong so my advice is to just make the most of every moment. Before you know it, the night is over and you’re saying goodbye to your guests.

#BWMadvice No.2 – Bridesmaids

In the immediate excitement of your engagement make sure you don’t get carried along to make any quick decisions about your wedding – especially with regards to your bridesmaids. Rushing in to ask your BFFs before you’ve even decided on the very basics of your wedding could prove a costly mistake further down the line because what you decide now directly affects your precious budget later! Each one needs a dress, flowers, hair, make up and transport not to mention a thank you gift so don’t start inviting every bestie in your contacts list.

There’s no rush. Take a step back and let the reality of your engagement sink in before making decisions you can’t change later on! Your friends will be there for you whether they are bridesmaids or not.

#BWMadvice No.1 – Insurance

If your new sparkler is worth more than your ‘single item’ value on your home #insurance – get that dazzler insured separately! Just call your insurer and ask to add your ring as a separate item on your insurance. Take a photo of it and get your fiancé to keep the receipt safely.

We will be keeping you up to date here on the blog & Instagram. So be sure to stay connected.
