The Walled Garden At Beeston Fields Spring Wedding Fair Highlights

What a fabulous day we had at The Walled Garden at Beeston Fields Wedding Fair in April.

A fabulous turn out (over 400 people!) meant the gorgeous marquee was buzzing and we were still going at closing time! Visitors were warmly welcomed with a glass of fizz and canapés courtesy of the super venue team at The Walled Garden and a Buckinghams Gift Bag for registered brides with treats from John Lewis and NEXT.  Over 25 fabulous wedding suppliers were in attendance and the super fun Geoff Kirby Photography captured the day for us (thank you Geoff!) so I’m pleased to have some some great photos to share with you. The forecast had been for rain but the sun brightly shone for most of the day meaning Annette in the ice cream van by Elite Candy Carts was kept busy. Dorset Marmalade was Brian’s favourite, Jess from Shade Bridal enjoyed a Salted Caramel but my fave was definitely Mango – delicious! Toe tapping entertainment was provided by the fantastic Paul Martyn (Sax, DJ & Vocals) & Jazz & Cocktails whilst our favourite magician, The Trixta, once again had some hilarious tricks up his sleeve.

One of my favourite bits of the day was every bride who literally gasped as they walked into the marquee. ‘Oh it’s gorgeous’ was heard several times over. ‘It looks amazing’ said another. The Walled Garden really is a cracking venue within the most romantic of settings. Helen at Cliff’s Cushions did a fabulous job with the bunting and ribboned ceiling and what with the beautiful chandeliers, gorgeous gardens and great atmosphere we really did have a super day. Thank you to those of you who have written to say what a lovely day you had – I hope you found your dress, cake, flowers, styling and lots more and many congratulations to those of you who booked your venue!

We are excited to be back at The Walled Garden for our next fair on Sunday 17 September 2017. If you would like priority notice of when the registration opens then email me at

So a massive thank you to The Walled Garden for having us, the amazing suppliers who exhibited and to every bride, groom, maid, mum, dad, friend and bestie who came to see us. I hope you enjoy the photos!

Highlights: Belvoir Castle Wedding Fair

We had such a lovely day at the Belvoir Castle Wedding Fair on Sunday 27th November – the first ever Buckinghams event at this historic venue. The day was thankfully dry after the previous week’s downpours. When we arrived at 8am there was a little grey cloud but the afternoon saw it brighten and ‘no rain’ is always a plus.

There were over 40 amazing exhibitors in attendance with stands set up over 3 floors and as the castle obviously doesn’t have a lift that meant several trips carrying flowers, cakes, props, sound rigs, wedding dresses, photo frames and yes, even a golden harp, up and back down and up again no less than 50 stairs (we counted them on an earlier visit!), for those showcasing amidst the grandeur of the State Dining Room, Picture Gallery and Ballroom. The day promised to be packed with inspiration for soon-to-be-wed couples, some whom travelled from as far as Warwickshire to visit the event. Visitors were greeted with a roaring fire in the Guard Room where they checked in to the fair and those brides who had pre-booked their free tickets received a gorgeous Buckinghams Gift Bag.

The Castle Souvenir Shop, Chapel, Gardens, Kings Rooms and State Bedrooms were open on the day giving visitors the perfect opportunity to explore the Castle and see for themselves this amazing venue in all her glory. The Castle Guides were in attendance too and played a valuable part on the day, chatting to couples and sharing the history of the Castle including a viewing of the bed which Queen Victoria once slept in; Brides reportedly fell in love with the Kings Rooms – a suite of opulent rooms made available to the bride for her pre-wedding preparations.

One of the exhibiting photographers on the day was the superb Rachael Connerton Photography  (t: 01664 822342) whom, with her husband Ian, kindly took time out during the day to bring us these fabulous highlight images which we are so pleased to share with you. Rachael is no stranger to Belvoir Castle; she knows the castle and grounds exceptionally well, shooting many weddings at the venue throughout the year. You can find a ‘real wedding’ from Rachael Connerton shot at Belvoir Castle in the latest issue of Buckinghams Wedding Magazine (download Issue 3 or buy a copy online) to see the superb photo opportunities this venue offers and read all about Lauren & Michael’s perfect day as the bride shares with readers all the details of her wedding story.

We hope you’ll agree the photographs capture a truly beautiful wedding fair set amidst the most stunning of backdrops and on behalf of all the exhibitors we would like to offer our gratitude and thanks to Their Graces, the Duke and Duchess of Rutland for inviting us into their magnificent home. Huge thanks also to the Belvoir Castle team and their support with organising the event – our most challenging floorplan to date! Our best wishes also extend to the couples who choose Belvoir Castle to host their special day. If you are still hunting for your venue and dreaming of an utterly romantic location, steeped in historical grandeur with breathtaking views and beautiful grounds then you must, repeat must, call the Castle team on 01476 871001, mention Buckinghams and arrange a private viewing.
